Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 June 2026
Welcome to Lancourse. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Lancourse website and services at lancourse.com (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. About Lancourse
Lancourse is an online marketplace that helps students discover and compare language schools and courses, and connect with those schools. Lancourse is not a language school and does not itself provide tuition, accommodation or related services. Any course, accommodation or service is provided by the relevant school, which is solely responsible for it.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use the Service. School administrators confirm that they are authorised to act on behalf of their school. We use passwordless sign-in codes sent by email, so you are responsible for keeping your email account secure. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
3. How the marketplace works
Students can browse listings and send enquiries or booking requests to schools. When you contact a school through Lancourse, your enquiry and the relevant details are shared with that school so it can respond. Any agreement, booking, payment or contract for a course is made directly between you and the school. Lancourse facilitates the introduction but is not a party to that agreement.
4. School listings and content
Schools are responsible for the accuracy, legality and completeness of the information they publish, including prices, courses, accommodation, photographs and availability. We may use automated tools, including artificial intelligence, to help schools import and structure information from their own websites or documents; schools must review and confirm that information before it is published. We do not guarantee that any listing is accurate, current or complete.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful, misleading or fraudulent purpose;
- submit false, infringing or harmful content;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users’ accounts;
- scrape, harvest or copy data except as expressly permitted;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, or send spam through it.
6. Payments
Browsing and sending enquiries on Lancourse is free for students, and listing is free for schools. Lancourse does not process payments: enrolment and payment for courses and accommodation are arranged directly between the student and the school, on the school's own terms.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, text and software (but excluding school-provided content), is owned by Lancourse or its licensors and is protected by law. Content provided by a school remains owned by that school, which grants Lancourse a licence to host and display it as part of the Service.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any listing is accurate or complete.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lancourse will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any course, accommodation, service or agreement provided by a school. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Lancourse against claims, losses and costs arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or end your access to the Service if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise.
